BooksShe worked at the Star Tribune for more than two decades as an editor and writer before retiring. Previously, she was a writer and editor at Minnesota Monthly magazine and at the Duluth News-Tribune. Hertzel grew up in Duluth, earned an MFA from Queens University in Charlotte, N.C., has written two books, and served as the autobiography chairman of the National Book Critics Circle board of directors.
