Heading into the final day of the draft on Saturday, the Vikings had just four picks. Without a trade, a four-player class would have been the smallest in team history. Instead they tied the smallest class, making five selections to match 2008 and 2009.
After addressing the offensive line by selecting Ohio State guard Donovan Jackson in the first round and adding wide receiver depth by taking Maryland receiver Tai Felton in the third, they focused on defensive needs on Saturday.
The Vikings acquired an additional pick and also picked up a backup quarterback in Sam Howell with two Day 3 trades.
